CDP® 496 wearplates
CDP® 496 is a composite material wearplate made of a structural steel backing and a self-fluxing metal powder overlay
CDP® 496 is a steel plate (mild or stainless) coated with a layer of NiCrBSi alloy, similar to 12496 or 10009.
- Lightweight wearplate to facilitate simple and easy handling.
- High quality surface structure with excellent flatness.
- Ultimate superior uniformity wear protection overlay as there is no dilution of base material.
- Absence of cracks compared to welded wear plates.
- Low coefficient of friction and smooth surface to avoid clogging and sticking.
- Excellent formability and easy to cut with laser, plasma or water-jet for precision parts.
- Easy to weld base metal.

Applications
Any application requiring extreme resistance to friction and good resistance to erosion, up to 650-700 °C. Corrosion resistance needs to be checked from case to case, investigating the type of corrosive agent, concentration and working temperature of the part.
