CDP® 496 is a composite material wearplate made of a structural steel backing and a self-fluxing metal powder overlay. CDP® 496 is a steel plate (mild or stainless) coated with a layer of NiCrBSi alloy, similar to 12496 or 10009.
  • Lightweight wearplate to facilitate simple and easy handling.
  • High quality surface structure with excellent flatness.
  • Ultimate superior uniformity wear protection overlay as there is no dilution of base material.
  • Absence of cracks compared to welded wear plates.
  • Low coefficient of friction and smooth surface to avoid clogging and sticking.
  • Excellent formability and easy to cut with laser, plasma or water-jet for precision parts.
  • Easy to weld base metal.

Applications

Any application requiring extreme resistance to friction and good resistance to erosion, up to 650-700 °C.
Corrosion resistance needs to be checked from case to case, investigating the type of corrosive agent, concentration and working temperature of the part.
