OTW 43ST-OA hardbanding wires
Self-shielded, Flux-cored, Tool Joint Build-Up Wire
Proprietary, self-shielded, flux cored alloy wire specifically developed for rebuilding of drilling pipe tool-joints. The alloy has been designed to completely replace any missing materials on a tool joint surface, especially when the properties must be maintained equal to the tool joint material, AISI 4137, heated and quenched to a hardness of about 30 – 36 HRC.
A tool joint might need to be built up to original surface dimension due to missing material, to extensive tong marks, removed old hardbanding or just build up under further hardbanding going over OTW 43ST-OA. This alloy has been tested & approved according to industry standards and customer approvals.Recommended welding parametersDiameter: 1/16” (1.6mm)
Voltage: 26 - 30
Current: 180-240 A
Wire Extension: 20 - 35 mm
Hardness: 34 HRC
