18 XFC® brazing rods

Braze welding alloy for maximum security joints.
Ideal for joining of galvanized steel tubes, tubular frames, car bodies, locks, brass plumbing.
Application designed welding rod for the repair and maintenance of brass, bronze and copper parts. An economical silver bearing brazing type alloy for use on a wide range of brasses and bronzes, and a combination of these, also suitable for dissimilar combinations of copper alloys to ferrous materials. A bronze alloy producing maximum strength and fluidity. The addition of deoxidising elements aid in eliminating zinc oxidation and fuming. Flux and core melt and flow smoothly forming high strength bonds to a wide range of dissimilar combinations of brasses and bronzes to ferrous metals.
Castolin 18: Bare rod.
Castolin 18 XFC: Flexible rod.
Castolin 18 MF: Flux-coated rod with minimal flux quantity.

Description

Castolin 18: Bare rod.
Castolin 18 XFC: Flexible rod.
Castolin 18 MF: Flux-coated rod with minimal flux quantity.

Applications

Vehicle chassis and tubular assemblies, vehicle bodies plus bronze and brass plumbing. Zinc coated piping and profiles.

Industry Examples

Window frames in galvanized iron: the joints need a fluid brazing and this can be obtained with 18 because of its silver content. Clock faces in mild steel. Parts of fire guards: reverse joining is less visible.
Galvanized steel: water pipes, heating installations for dryers, railings, suction pipes, roofing, ventilation ducts, coating, dustbins, washing baskets, washing machine drums and ice-cream moulds.
