Successful surfacing of vertical roller mill at "TulaTsement" plant in Russia
Castolin Eutectic Russia completed in April the surfacing of a VRM tumbling body at the "TulaTsement" plant. The wear protection action included surfacing of four rollers and a table without dismantling. Tight deadlines and the ability to immediately resume plant operation to avoid production loss and material losses were the main goals and conditions set by the customer to our team of international experts.
In the course of welding, 2.700 kg of TeroMatec self-shielding cored wire have been employed, wire which was specially designed for vertical roller mill surface welding by Castolin Eutectic (the wire is produced at our facility in Ireland). All the works including unloading, assembly and disassembly of welding equipment took 5 days only. Thus the customer was not only pleased with the high quality of the work, but also thanked the company's management for work completion well ahead of schedule and particularly noted the team's professionalism and competent management.

Owing to the Castolin materials at "TulaTsement" plant, the lifetime of VRM with a layer of weld will be significantly extended in comparison with the original VRM with NiHard 4.
