Castolin Eutectic expands service workshop in Czech Republic

On the back of over 30 years of success in the Czech Republic, Castolin Eutectic has outgrown its previous location and moved into a modern 1,100 sqm facility in Business Park Prague in November 2015.

The improved infrastructure allows easier handling of industrial parts, higher capacity and expands the scope of the service offerings provided in the Czech Republic. The new facility offers extra room for maintenance and repair services of industrial components in strategic industries (cement, mining, steel, power generation, recycling), a modern product showroom, a dedicated professional customer training centre and equipment repaires area.

“The old set up in Troja did not allow further growing with more diversified maintenance and repairing applications. The future is in services, which already represent 40% of sales today, and the new location will support further development in this direction,“ explains Thomas Urbancik, CEO of Castolin Czech Republic and Slovakia. In addition, “with all the new handling equipment, we will increase our productivity and reaction speed to the benefit of our customers,” adds Mr. Urbancik.

The new workshop allows handling of parts up to 5,000 kgs and provides space for spraying booths, the boiler coatings container for on-site interventions, blasting containers, welding robots, plasma transferred arc machines and lathes. In the Czech Republic, the main Castolin Services jobs include screws and rolls refurbishment, fan blades rehabilitation, boiler coatings, protection of ducts, linings, cyclons and chutes with CDP® and CastoTube® wear parts.

Castolin Eutectic Czech Republic is ISO 9001: 2008 certified and sales forecasts amount to 5 million in the current 5-year plan.
