Our HVOF equipment takes coating to another level in Scandinavia

Tags:

KMAB (Karlstad Metallisering AB) in Sweden was the first company in Europe to purchase our CJK5 HVOF equipment.

KMAB is a company with tradition that has been working with thermal spraying since 1958. Besides thermal spraying, KMAB are also working with machining, balancing and teflon coatings. Today the company is using plasma, flame, arc spraying and HVOF in their daily work. The parts that are sprayed are mainly components for the pulp and paper industry, steel and mining industries.

Our revolutionary OTW-12Ti hardbanding alloy

Tags: New Product

OTW-12Ti is a proprietary, gas shielded, flux cored alloy wire specifically developed for Hardbanding of drilling pipe tool-joints. The high quality protective alloy weld deposit is designed to give a crack-free, smooth surface with low friction properties. Wear resistance performance in open hole situations qualifies amongst the best on the market with lowest casing-wear properties. This alloy may be cost-effectively reapplied over itself to refurbish worn drill pipes after drilling operations. It is only necessary to ensure that the base material and old OTW-12Ti coating are free of any physical defects and that safe dimension tolerances are retained.

New Coating with Integrated Cutting Effect: Cracker

Tags: New Service

Cracker is a highly abrasion resistant coating that has been specifically developed for improving hammer service life. This coating is applied on equipment hammers that process large volumes of materials and where abrasion and mild impacts cause a large amount of wear that eventually reduces machine performance and availability. The wear resistance of Cracker comes from the large carbides (up to 1.6mm) that are strongly bound into a tough tool steel matrix. This particular blend not only confers abrasion and impact resistant properties, it also provides a rough surface feature that is extremely useful in applications where materials must be shred.

Eutectic Mexico celebrated its brand new Castolin Workshop

The 9th of January 2012 will always remain an important date in the minds of Eutectic Mexico´s employees. This particular date was the opening of their brand new Castolin workshop in Monterrey, in the north of Mexico. The Castolin Services history in Mexico started in 2005 with a 100 sqm-workshop equipped with few welding power sources and cutting equipment. Year after year, the service side of Eutectic business has been continuously growing, increasing so fast that Eutectic Mexico had to make new investments in 2008 with a new workshop, and again in 2012 with this brand new Castolin Services facilities.

Did you know? We created the “Conservationist Award” in 1973

Castolin Eutectic's fundamental concept of repairing worn parts is a recycling concept by itself! It avoids companies to throw their old parts away and to buy expensive new ones when they could be repaired and re-used.
The fact of throwing those parts away is extremely harmful for the environment because the parts will need to be replaced by new manufactured ones that will waste energies and resources for the production, as well as creating new garbage to be recycled, but also simply because resources will have to be used to recycle the worn parts.

Castolin Eutectic - an educational resource for students

As experts in welding, brazing and coating technologies, we are also committed to training the young generation of welders, engineers and researchers. A TF1 report shows the Castolin Eutectic red manual which became the reference for a 21-year-old boiler manufacturing student. In spite of the financial difficulties, the Bourgogne student decided to pursue a technical career and chose the Castolin red guide as an educational resource.
