Highest cutting precision in Austria-with WATER!
In spring 2009 an abrasive waterjet cutting machine was set-up by the CastoLab® Services in Austria. Thanks to the CNC controller and the highly flexible cutting nozzle with automatic height sensing, CDP® wearplate parts with the highest cutting quality (without heat input) can be produced. This cutting can produce complex geometries even in high-strength composite materials like CDP® without harming the highly wear-resistant microstructure. The technology uses a mixture of water and fine, highly abrasive sand, fired under 4,000 bar pressure. Difficult materials can now be cut such as glass, plastic, foam, paper, wood and even food. The bevel cutting and fine cut are shown in the photo.
